This is one I recently heard about:
imagine a prison where nobody is allowed to talk. The cells are positioned in a circle. Every morning the prisoners step out of their cells for a short assembly (still nobody is allowed to talk, they remain standing in front of their personal little cell). Now, there is an evil disease spreading among this community, the first sign being the face turning bright green. Those with a green face should immediately report to the sickbay, otherwise they will die and infect other prisoners.
The problem is, there are no mirrors and nobody is allowed to talk.
The question is: how long exactly does it take for all the sick persons to report to sickbay and why? |

doesn't it depend on how many prisoners there are, how big the circle of cells is and how quickly the disease spreads? Or at least on one of the above factors?
