Try calling the head of the department you want to work for. For example, you can call the vp of marketing for a product managemnt position, the controller for an above entry level accounting position and the CFO for high level finance jobs.
Very often the names of people such as these are available on the company's web site (either listed directly or buried in press releases)or in the annual report. Directories such as the such as the the Standard Directory of Advertisers (lists most large companies and some smaller companies, public and private in a variety of industries)list key employees. You also may want to try the web site of trade shows relevant to your industry (or better yet get a show directory). These sometimes list personnel as well.
