Imagine my surprise today when I drove 50 miles to Job Finders International in Santa Ana CA for what I thought was an interview with a Recruiter only to discover that they are a "Marketing" firm that expects the Candidate to pay them a fee up front for "Career Counseling". Anybody have any experience with these Marketing firms disguising themselves as Recruiters? |

I spoke last summer with a career counseling firm (Bernard Haldane & Associates) in West Bloomfield, MI. They quoted me $3700 for 3 years of career coaching. I didn't join. What I didn't like about it was they seemed to not want to be held accountable for results (interviews, offers).
They state their goal in terms that are not measurable. They say they will help me get a job "as fast as my situation allows."
