I am tired of all the arrogance I see on this website and its boards, and the message they convey.
It seems that in today's "elite" world as envisioned by this website, all you should care about in your life and career is the price of your Armani suit, whether going to a community college instead of Harvard was a bad choice, how much you are getting to be paid, and how much schmoozing is required to get the job. Whether you will like your job is, apparently, a superfluous criterion because if you're well paid and part of a so-called "elite", then you have nothing to complain about.
That's materialism at its worst.
I am surprised to see that people working in a well-paid area in which 99% of the population couldn't work because of education and experience requirements still find something to whine about. It is a most elitist behaviour, and it should tell a lot about how much people in the spheres this website targets are full of themselves.
It's so hard to look down at more unfortunate people in society, isn't it? |

You sound very depressed and angry. Most of us here have been laid off and are desparately seeking employment. The purpose of this site is to offer support not judgment. As for we "elitists" who have held high level jobs and hold advanced degrees, many of us have sacrificed for our education via student loans, unpaid internships, etc to get ahead. However, preparation does not insulate anyone from being laid off in a recession. Most of us are concerned about survival right now rather than missing the end of the season sale at Saks as you seem to believe. I advise you to read some self help books to identify why you feel the need to bash others who have also fallen upon hard times. I recommend the book "Failing Forward."
