Message: Overqualified=unemployable=TOOOLD. I am hearing that I am "overqualified" for positions. Yet when I read job descriptions, I usually meet 75-80% of the job. So how can I be overqualified? Due to the current market, companies "think" they can get the same person (younger) for less money. Obviously my previous experience is not worth anything even though I have a recent degree (1996). I know my age (48) is an issue because one material manager came right out and asked "will you have a problem working for someone younger than yourself?"
