Message Name: management always wins the lie game

In Reply To: I had the misfortune to be 'made redundant' from Merrill Lynch. I knew my manager did it for the wrong reasons - mainly because I wouldn't accept a forced change of working hours in my contract. When I fought the decision they began to lie like dogs about my performance and other things. They did the same thing to a friend so there is a pattern. Accept redundancy and the meagre payoff or they will defame you. Therefor I say LIE and EMBELLISH as much as you can get away with
Message: Management always wins when it's your word against theirs, whether you are lying or they are lying, or both of you are lying. Find the best spin on the truth, convince yourself it's the "real" reason you left, and move on. I got screwed at one company, and learned to pretend it never happened, because otherwise I'd feel too bad about myself.
