headhunters work for the company |

I live in New York and have been on the job hunt for about 4 months now. I am a finance professional with 3 years of investment banking experience and 2 years of internet start-up management experience. I have been working with several headhunters, however I have had NO interviews through the HHs. All my interviews have been arranged on my own, through my own contacts.
Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to be more aggressive with the headhunters? Do I need to call them constantly? Or is it that they just have so few openings? I certainly think of myself as a well-qualified, highly-employable person.
Thanks for your input and advice. |

They are only interested in finding what the company wants, not in finding you a job. They're in business, like everyone else. Don't depend on them. Sure, they may be helpful some of the time, but only if you're lucky.
