Any constructive comments for getting a (relatively) senior level banking position in Asia? Prefer Singapore or HK but will consider others. US expat in Oz, I have experience as GM at Country level and qualifications MBA etc and trained. The market is looking bleak but has upside. Headhunters don't seem useful; prefer to go direct.
Comments, suggestions to cma@xmail.com

I'm not sure about HK but can offer you some advice on S'pore's banking industry. As with the rest of the world, job market in Asia is generally declining. However, experienced expatriates are always welcomed in S'pore because of the local government supports foreign talent. A lot of banking executives in S'pore are foreigners and they are paid very well. I would not only go after global banks like Citibank but also the 'Big Four' in S'pore. They are: DBS, OCBC, OUB and UOB. Just go to their websites and they would have a careers page. Also, try contacting an organization called "Contact Singapore" based in the U.S. They also have a website and this would really help you in finding the right resources.
