I'm interested in getting feedback from anyone who has been moved by their company, or who has chosen to move themselves for a new job.
I am considering a long distance move for a new job, and would love any advice on how to make this as painless as possible for my family (kids aged 6 wks to 4 years). The biggest strain is likely to be on my spouse, who has the most family where we live now.
Any tips would be appreciated. |

When I transferred to another city a few years ago, my wife insisted that we buy a house in a new development. That way, everyone was in the same boat--new to the area, knowing no one--making it so much easier to make new friends! Older neighborhoods tend to have established groups and cliques which can be difficult to crack.
Good luck on your new adventure!
