I'm interested in getting feedback from anyone who has been moved by their company, or who has chosen to move themselves for a new job.
I am considering a long distance move for a new job, and would love any advice on how to make this as painless as possible for my family (kids aged 6 wks to 4 years). The biggest strain is likely to be on my spouse, who has the most family where we live now.
Any tips would be appreciated. |

I have relocated several times in my career. A few tips: budget for unlimited phone calls by your spouse to call back home, buy your home in a new neighborhood where it will be easier to make friends, join the local "newcomers" club, consider moving intially by yourself until the kids finish the school.
