I find Lord and Taylor has some good things and a lot of sales. Emme also has a good line of clothing, but I'm not sure where they sell it. She is often featured in MODE magazine and her things are great. |

If you want things that last, try Ulla Popken. The website is www.ullapopken.com; the company is German and has stores all over Europe and just two in the US.
All of my professional wardrobe comes from UP--it's smart, it's comfortable, it's well-made, and it fits.
I would not recommend The Avenue or Lane Bryant--things fall apart too quickly and don't wash well. Oh, they're fine for trendy items, but not for classics.
I have some UP dresses that are now 5 years old and still look new. It's really nice stuff.
