When you originally mentioned what industry you're in, I assumed you were willing to take the exercise I mentioned in one of my anti-HR postings, where I would give you some hypothetical candidates for some hypothetical jobs and I would evaluate your selections. Although I've worked with clients in almost every product and service sector, (food, clothing, cosmetics, fragrances, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, hardware, housewares, electronics, computer hardware and software telecommunications, media, financial services, travel, toys, sporting goods and more) your industry is one that I am not very knowledgable about. And I am trying to gain enough information for me to fabricate candidates with job skills relevant for hypothetical openings. I am not a headhunter so these candidates background would be completely made up.
If you are not participating in the exercise you need not provide additional information. I assure you that I have no interest in discovering your or your employer's identity. And I don't need this information for you to participate.
The exercise is designed to prove a point or give you an opportunity to dispel some of my assumptions concerning HR. |

When you are in a specialized industry, its very hard to give any more detailed information than I've given. No thanks for the anti-HR prove a point initiative. It's taken far to long just to get to this point.
We don't expect resumes to tell a full story, but if you're out there, and you're really looking for a job and want to communicate a point. Pick up the phone or include it concisely in a cover letter. I interviewed two people this week who I normally wouldn't have brought in because they did not explain their 3 month job stints on their resume. They are now a candidate for employment now that they gave me a call and explained their background rather than me trying to figure out code or assume they are trying to hide something.
Even funnier are the candidates who don't put any dates on their resume at all. That's the good stuff.
