WAS a female being interviewed by females - implying that the females interviewing here were jealous of her, perhaps? |

but I have a different perspective. I have observed similar behaviors as I take pride in my personal appearance (and happen to have good genes). Although I haven't lost any potential jobs because of it, I can say that I do notice when people are envious of my looks and insecure of their own. Trust me when I tell you that this makes ME more uncomfortable than THEM and I am sure the original poster agrees. The only advice I can offer the poster is to maybe add a humourous note to your interview and perhaps compliment the interviewer in a "girlfriend" kind of way to break the ICE. Example: " I have that same blouse, but it REALLY looks good on you, I would have never thought to incorporate those colors." I know this may seem unprofessional, but trust me, it will let the interviewer know that you're not some superficial, arrogant ice queen who wants everyone to look at her. And, please DO NOT stop taking care in your appearance, despite getting the jealous attitudes, how you look says a ton about who you are!
I hope this helps.
