Is it good/bad/neutral to have more than one person pass your resume along to recruiting within one firm? |

HR can't hire you. They use resumes to screen people out.
Your first hurdle is to get an interview with someone that has the authority to hire you.
The most effective way to accomplish THAT is to educate that person about what the value you bring and what you could do for him or her.
The best way to do THAT is with a letter (e-mail or otherwise). If you know how to write an effective marketing letter, then DO NOT include your resume. You can include the key information that's in your resume by incorporating it within the text of your marketing letter.
The idea is to educate the hiring authority to the extent necessary to motivate him or her to want to know more about you and to act on that desire by picking up the horn and calling you.
