As a consultant to hiring managers, I'd be interested to know from a candidates point of view, what annoys you most about your job search process, and what could hiring managers do better?

Recently, I was laid off. While looking for a position, I was really surprised at the amount of non-communications from companies that are hiring. I interviewed with some of the best companies and thought the interviews went really well. Then I had to chase down someone to tell me that I didn't get the job. No rejection letter was sent. All I could think of was how unprofessional. I mean I interviewed with one company that regularly makes the 100 best companies to work for list every year! It took me 2 months to finally find out that they hired someone else! How rude!
