Hi, I'm currently working in the Private Banking sector and would like to make a transition to Corporate Finance of Investment Banking but it's been pretty tough so far. I orginally thought about going to pursue my MBA first but I rather do the former for a couple of years. I'd prefer to be a lateral hire since I'm a second year analyst but I'm also open to starting from scratch if need be. Does anyone have any recommendations on firms or head hunters (for NYC) to look into. Most bulge brackets I've looked at seem to only want campus recruits and I've been told lateral hires in IB are not typical. Any advice?
