I really don't know about the rest of your experiences, but I've been there two days and already am involved in 5 transactions and working on my first book...
I would probably suggest that when you're interviewing (this is at any company) you ask what your responsibilities will be, what the day will entail, etc. My workload is exactly what I expected it to be and I'm really enjoying it!
Also - it's a boutique and a small one. This also includes a great degree of freedom and accountability. If you're someone who needs structure and lots of training and such, most boutqiues would not be a good fit, I feel.

Were you hired for the research analyst position or a different position? If so, are you really cold calling or provided decent leads? Also, would you mind sharing some info about the commission structure?
