Background: I am in the process of relocating (August) and looking for a job in the new city while employed.
Question: I have always used thank you letters on the stationery as my resume instead of thank you cards. I??d like to know what your recommendations are. Is a letter too much? According to some career articles I??ve read thank you notes are preferable.
I know it may seem like a minor thing, but we all know how important details are for making good impressions...
Thanks, |

I prefer to receive a short letter/note, on an A4 page (it's easier to file than an odd shaped card - now we're getting into details!).
Just very brief and to the point - I already know everything about the applicant, I don't need to know anymore, or waste time re-reading things. It's the pro-activeness of the applicant that is remembered when a thank you letter is sent, not the content of the actual letter.
Oh, and don't forget the thank you card if you do get the job - in this case a card is more appropriate because it can be displayed.
Good luck!!
