Hello,
I am a recent masters of science grad in computer science. I graduated in May 2006. I am having a hard time finding any jobs/or even getting called to an interview. I have no prior experience either. Just a Research Assistantship during my masters. I got the career planning office at my school to look at my resume and I modified it. But I am still having trouble getting any interviews. I just got one personal interview but the fact that I look like a 12 year old was what did not get me the job(I was extremely extremely nervous too so that could have contributed to me not getting the job too). Could there be any other reasons why I am not even getting an interview? |

Hello,
I am a recent MS grad too (in chemical engineering). I finished in August 2006. I don't have any experience except for my research assistantship.It has been difficult getting interviews too. So I definitely can relate. It's like a curse not having done an internship or coop. I look younger than my age too - I think that makes it worse. I have thought of lying on my resume. I have also thought of doing an internship but most people aren't going to give a graduate an internship.
I hope it makes you feel a little better that someone out there is going through what you're going through. If you want we can be job search buddies and try to motivate ourselves through this. Best of luck.
