Hello,
I am a recent masters of science grad in computer science. I graduated in May 2006. I am having a hard time finding any jobs/or even getting called to an interview. I have no prior experience either. Just a Research Assistantship during my masters. I got the career planning office at my school to look at my resume and I modified it. But I am still having trouble getting any interviews. I just got one personal interview but the fact that I look like a 12 year old was what did not get me the job(I was extremely extremely nervous too so that could have contributed to me not getting the job too). Could there be any other reasons why I am not even getting an interview? |

I graduated with a MSCS in mid/late June and I have yet to find a job. I've had around 4-5 phone interviews in the past 6 months and no in-person interview invites. I have started to apply for jobs and interview in other industries as well, and that has produced better results (several in-person interviews but no offers so far). I've done research throughout most summers like yourself, so I have no industry intern experience. I thought I wanted to be an academic, which is why I didn't pursue industry opportunities. Big mistake!
