In Reply To: Again, I'm not speaking specifically about Spencer Stuart. I know nothing about them, and would have been smart to research before commenting ... I'm speaking only about firms that charge up-front fees, often times very Large Fees, for their assistence in your job search...
Message: Did you attend college (or a vocational school)? You paid in advance for it. Wanna go to a movie? Pay in advance. Want to fly to Europe? Pay for the ticket in advance. Want to get help from a lawyer? Pay a retainer. Try going to a doctor or any other professional and telling them you'll pay them down the road and good luck finding you. You will be shown the door. Want that toy you saw at the store? Pay for it before you take it home. You pay or guarantee payment (via credit card, check etc.) for almost literally EVERYTHING...in advance. That's the way the world works, "pattersb".
