Think of job hunting as a Marketing problem, not a resume distribution problem.
Target hiring authorities only.
Consider using a marketing letter to capture their attention and interest. Hold off on surrendering your resume until AFTER interest has been expressed in what you can do for the hiring authority.
In other words, focus on strategies and tactics designed to GET INTERVIEWS with hiring authorities, rather than on trying to "get a job". |

Thank you very much for the sensible advice. Problems that I had with those job sites are a) A lot of positions listed are not valid. Just a bunch of fronting. b) Even if I apply for something that sounds qualifying, my resume will be mounted by heaps and heaps of others, and practically it's very tricky get any of their attention. It would make it a whole lot easier if I can find out the validity of the opening as well as the name of the hiring authority beforehand, but not being a psychic, I guess it will take some work.
Ironically though, I got a 3-month-long assignment from Monster.com. The recruiter responded to my profile almost instantly, I didn't have to spend much time looking around, but I'll keep my eyes open for more lucrative opportunities still. Thank you again.
