My aunt is getting her BS in Nursing at Louisiana State University, to be an LPN. She won't graduate until May 07 but she already has job offers lined up because of the high demand in the field. I know she said that she wanted a B.S. rather than an associate??s degree because there is a faster track for management opportunities.
I don't want to discourage you on getting the associate's, but I think even though you will get through school quicker, you will have to take more of an entry-level position. Maybe you can use that as a platform towards getting an undergrad at a 4-year university. Many schools will take the credits from a 2-year program.
I think it's a great field to be in, either way. Best of luck to you and congratulations on finishing your B.S.

When you finish school, and first get your license, you are going to have to take an entry level position whether you have a bachelor's degree or an associates degree, it doesn't matter. There will job offers lined up for you either way. There is no doubt that there is a faster track for management opportunities for BSN nurses, but it's also doable to get your associates degree, and then go back to get your bachelor's once you're working. It's harder, but you'll have more tuition assistance, and you'll know if nursing is right for you before you spend the extra money.
