In Reply To: Hi. I am currently in my senior year at a 4 year college majoring in economics. I would like to switch career paths to nursing. I plan to complete my senior year and earn the BA, then apply to either an accelerated BSN or to a RN program. Which of the two options do you think is best? Have you heard of Maric College or National University? Would a degree from one of those schools be enough to get me hired as a new nurse? Any thoughts or advice are much appreciated. Thanks
Message: My aunt is getting her BS in Nursing at Louisiana State University, to be an LPN. She won't graduate until May 07 but she already has job offers lined up because of the high demand in the field. I know she said that she wanted a B.S. rather than an associate??s degree because there is a faster track for management opportunities. I don't want to discourage you on getting the associate's, but I think even though you will get through school quicker, you will have to take more of an entry-level position. Maybe you can use that as a platform towards getting an undergrad at a 4-year university. Many schools will take the credits from a 2-year program. I think it's a great field to be in, either way. Best of luck to you and congratulations on finishing your B.S.
