I will begin a new part-time job in September. Since it will only be 10-15 hours a week, I'll need a second job. There is another position I am qualified for at the same company. Should I ask my future boss whether he could put in a good word for me? During the interview, he apologized there were so few hours, but said that if I get my foot in the door, there may be other opportunities. |

Seems like the person you interviewed with planted the seed about doing the favor, so I don't see any harm in pursuing it. I'd say just to wait a little while though -- show him you're more than worth it, then he'll be even more convinced to back you.
