Im a recent grad from the University of Florida with a dual degree in econ and finance. I am trying to find work in financial services in New York City but due to the geographical location of my school, there are very few companies from nyc that come to the job fairs. Ive filled out countless online applications but that just feel like a waste of time because they have not yielded any interviews. What is the best way to go about finding work at a financial services firm in NYC. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks. |

You could try using placement agencies / temp agencies, most of them have "permanent placement" departments and the bigger ones specialize in different sectors (law, admin, finance). You could try Glocap Search, they deal primarily with Manhattan hedge funds & investment banks, etc. Just google "placement agencies in Manhattan" some stuff will turn up.
