I've been in the insurance industry for 3 years. I want out and it's been hard searching for a job. Anyone have good luck with a recruiting firm or should I search financial firm websites for jobs. I'm on all the job sites. |

Respond to intenet or newspaper advertisement for a position in your field. The agency calls you in for roughly three hours of testing. After all the testing with very good scores, the agency lets you know at the end that they will contact you when a position comes in that matches your background. The other line the agency runs on you is that they will send you on a temporary assignment with a company and yes, if they like you, they will have you hired permanently. I have not seen that happening lately. After you finish your 10 day assignment with the company, the agency lets you know that they are still trying to place you in a permenent position. That, I still have not yet seen. What are the key factors in finding permanent employment. Well, for the agencies, the have more to gain by having people temp. Once a company employs a temp they send in, for the agencies, it is termed as "ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST". They just lost an income. There has to be a better solution to the JOB SEARCH. There has been nothing but lies, I guess the truth is, PRAY THAT YOU GET LUCKY. I have highly skilled IT Engineers who have been unemployed for the past 12 months. Please, let me and others know where to find a job if there is still a job market out there. Taking all these tests for 2-3 hours and there is no END RESULTS is, in my opinion, a form of building up hopes, then letting them down.
