Message: Here's my story: I have a degree in English Literature from a highly competitive college here in the northeast. I worked hard and got a high GPA and all that. I've considered going to graduate school but I don't like school all that much. In fact, I despise it! I graduated three years ago and have not had the opportunity to work in a real job since graduating. I've had three seperate jobs since then, with one of them being full-time. They have all been uninteresting retard work (my apologies to any retards out there). For the past year and a half, I have been applying to jobs with some potential. I must have e-mailed 50 or so resumes and cover letters. I have not heard back from any of these people. It feels like I have been wasting my time. Here are my questions: What can I do with a degree in English Literature? What are my options? Where is the best place to look for jobs? As for networking, my social circle consists of mostly working-class people. Also, my last name bespeaks an eastern european heritage and it's difficult to pronounce - does that hurt my chances of getting an interview? My impression of these hiring people is that they have really narrow criteria and a weird last name is enough to get your correspondence thrown in the dreaded circular file. I've tried everything and I'm running out of patience. I'm looking to blame someone. Can you help me find someone to blame? Or, can you at least give me some advice, if you've run into similar problems or know of someone who has? Thanks, JS
