In Reply To: I have been working as a Credit Analyst for nearly 3 months, when my boss called me into her room together with the HR manager. They "cordially" informed that they'd like to part ways with me because (1) they didnt want to confirm my probation which ends at the end of the 3rd month and (2) they feel that I've not been performing up to standards. (That's just plain excuses. She has never sat down with me to discuss my performance at all and she made untrue accusations towards my work. Basically she wasn't happy that I requested for some time off to be with my boyfriend who came visiting from overseas a month ago). To end things on a nice note, my bitchy boss suggested that I resign and she'd write me a reference letter. I'm concerned if I should even put down the last 3 months in my resume and if so, what should I say when asked about the reason for leaving? I'm also concerned about prospective employers doing reference checks on past employers. I'm concerned that my ex-boss will sabotage me in that way.
Message: It's probably atypical for someone who requests time-off during the first three-months of a probation period to be with their boyfriend from overseas is offered a job. Not to mention, this same someone performs at a sub-standard level. In any event, it sounds as though you need to work on your attitude ...
