Message: I interviewed with an HR consulting firm in early January, but didn't get the job. But I got a call this past Friday about another position available there. (it's in a different department, but a much higher level position). And the position had just been posted that evening. Anyway, the person who called me (aka my would-be supervisor), said that although my qualifications didn't exactly match what they were looking for, I came highly recommended from the people I first interviewed with.(???) So here's my concern: My would-be supervisor used the term "courtesy interview" when talking about my coming in to meet with her. My impression of a courtesy interview is when a company wants to talk to you, but has no intention whatsoever of hiring you. What do you all think? MTIA!
