I am looking for career advice based on my situation.
I am 29 years old. I have a BS in Biology and a MSc in Computational Biology (Comp Sci with Bio emphasis), both degrees are from a top UC school.
I have about 4 years of experience as an engineer in the Medical /Clinical Diagnostics Device software industry.
During these 4 years I worked at three different companies. The first for about 18 months, the second for 6 months (company had mass lay offs) and 2 years at the last company.
Each of these companies were very large (billion dollar/international) companies.
The first two companies I stayed fairly "entry-level" in my responsibilities.
The last company which I stayed 2 years at I had escalating responsibilities team leader, technical pre-sales, visiting client sites, trained clinical trials monitors etc.
During a slow period at my last company I decided, on a whim, to take a leave of absence and go travel the world intending to return in 4 months.
Instead I stumbled upon a job here in Central Europe. I was offered a job as a Project Manager at major Indian IT Consulting and outsourcing company ($1.5 billion revenue) that has an office here in Europe. I quit my US job and took the position here.
I joined with the intention of consulting with Healthcare/Medical type companies. This never happened because the company could not establish any deals of this type.
Instead I am working heavily with Finance & Accounting, HR outsourcing and consulting. Mostly re-engineering companies departments so they can be outsourced to India and Central Europe.
I enjoy it, I get to travel all over exotic locations in Europe, Asia and America and meet with executives , CEO's, and directors at MAJOR companies. I am having the time of my life and really enjoy my European life.
But it has nothing to do with my education and previous work exp and I get paid in local Central European money. I have been working here 6 months.
Now I am ready to return to the US and work for an American company. I want the money and benefits that come with working for an American company, plus I would like to raise my family in the states.
But I do not know what kind of career I should be looking for?
Does anyone know of a path that can combine my Bio-Med education and 4+ years of experience with my 6 months of global consulting, outsourcing project management experience?
I really don't know what to do next.
And since I am approaching 30 here, I really feel as if I should be back in the US and settling on a solid career.

It sound like you are having a great deal of fun. If you are serious about coming to the US perhaps you could look into consulting/sales for a CRO or Research lab. I am a recruiter that is currently seeking someone to sell their services which include pharmaceutical and agri lab services outsourcing.
Send me a resume and I will look it over, get back to you.
