In Reply To: Hello, I've been working at this company for two and a half year as a temp. I have applied for three or four job opening in the admin field. I have been moved from location to location and can pick up on jobs really easy and fast. All the work that I have done has not paid off. Every time a position comes open ,I am looked over for the position and someone with no experince get the job and I get a letter stating that someone who is more qualified for the job received it and I know that they were not more qualified. What is the problem and what can I do better.
Message: No matter what someone says this is a fact. Since 2000 the job market has change. You will find this type of things are going on all over America. With today's market there is more illegal job sourcing (asking for social security numbers first not after you are the one selected or going to be hired after a background check, more temp jobs and cprw (certified public resume writers). I know I getting off pace on your qustion in your mind but it isn't. If you or your family member worked at a job and one of them was ill quite a bit and you lost your job for downsizing or whatever. Your next employer does a background check prior to hiring or most in the beginning and investigates behind you and finds out you are a healthcare abuser and will cost them more money on premiums. (I bet you did not know this. This can be done since 911.) Also, there are more temp jobs now than ever due to not wanting to pay fulltime position with benefits. There are more resume writers in America today working fulltime in there own business because recruitors are networked and are trained what words to use and apply them.(An example they say they can evaluate your resume in 15 seconds) This why it is hard to write about yourself and apply the correct wording format. The excuse is (Do not lay your resume out like a job descriptions.) Lay it out as accomplishments. It is very hard to write about yourself we all know but politics to locating a job and good paying is rediculus. But this is happening also. Good luck and write your congressman that these kind of activities needs to stop.
