I did sales for less than a year right out of undergrad. Then I did premium auditing for a few years. Next came underwriting asst type work for a large agency/broker.. Then 4 years in acctg as kind of an acct analyst/manager.. p and c insurance, reinsurance, treaty, direct.. Now for last 3+ years, I've been in Acctg - research, tons of formal written work for gov't entities, reinsurance, fronting, direct, assumed, jack of all trade- I unfortunately don't feel like I'm a master of any! The insurance industry favors a BS-Acctg and then a CPA... neither of which I have. I can't find a future for myself here and I am wasting away my prime earning years.
