Message: Hello, The more I study business in a practical manner (rather than what one learns in college) the more I realise how unbelievably fragmented everything is. I don??t think I need to engage a discourse of the various areas to illustrate this, so let me make my point. I don??t think I am a special case; although in Ireland it seems so, but I just love business, and I find everything fascinating! Having just graduated and trying to explain to people what I want to do (networking) I am perpetually perplexed by what to answer! How many young people can honestly say ??yeah, fixed income derivatives are just sooo much more fun than equity derivatives!??? Come off it! Since the age of about ten I have wanted to be an investment banker, but 12 years later, I know I would have a bloody great time as a sales-trader in Rabobank or as a strategy consultant in BCG. One post stated that a person was not ready for a job because the person couldn??t decide between IB and Consulting. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think that is BS. Ergo, if one genuinely loves business full stop, how does one decide what to do?
