In Reply To: Currently in a situation where the lead manager, who I work for directly, is very well connected with people in and out of her industry. I want to start testing the waters for a new position by sending out resumes, but afraid someone may see our company and get back to my manager about someone from their firm doing a job search, which will definitely put my job at risk. Any suggestions what I can.
Message: Try using a confidential search firm. There are many out there whose main principle is to preserve your confidentiality (such as the one I work for!) I don't know where you're at or what industry you're in, otherwise I would try to recommend one for you. email me at beckyc@rwr.com. Always make sure that you check out a search firm's website before sending them any information about you. There are still some out there who charge YOU the fee, instead of or in addition to the employer. You probably don't want to get into that situation, and it's definitely not necessary. -Becky Cunningham
