I am 52 years old. I am within 2 classes of getting my California teaching credential for special education. I had a teaching job last year on "emergency credential". That position was 40 freeway miles away. The director was pretty decent and let me go because she could see that teaching, driving, going to college and trying to be a breadwinner for my family was not good for either of us. I got a $3000 check last April and now I am on unemployment. Every interview I go to goes great. I do all the right things. The interviewers all love me. I am told I act professionally. Yet,I have not been hired. What is up with that?
