Functional vs. Chronological |

I was wondering. Since a majority of my resumes are sent electronically and the purpose in sending these lovely things is to grab the reader's attention, wouldn't a functional resume serve a better purpose? It seems that the functional resume gets to the point. At the interview then you could provide hard facts with the chronological one. Any thoughts?
