I can't tell you how many times a week we hear, "I'm just looking for job security."
Everyone says they are looking for job security. What professionals don??t seem to understand is job security is no longer about a company.
The days of gold watches and 25 year anniversary parties are all but gone.
Instead, the new job security is YOU.
You, the professional, must take responsibility for your own job security. YOU must keep your skills on the cutting edge. It's up to you to make your experience and skills invaluable and in demand. YOU need the fore- thought to recession and layoff-proof your career. You must take responsibility for your future and not expect that someone (or something) else will.
