In Reply To: The problem is not so much ethics, it more the a-hole factor. The head of the company I work for is a number 1 a-hole. To him its 1973, not 2003. He actually told one of the junior people that she did not need an MBA in this industry. He is an arrogant and rude person. And sadly you are known by the company you keep. I would love to know what other bankers at his level think of him.
Message: I don't think it matters that the head is an A-Hole. They are everywhere. If the firm doesn't have any legal or ethical problems, I wouldn't worry about it. Just because the head is an A-Hole, doesn't mean you are. Plus, there are a lot of A-Holes working in banking today. Remember, it's really tough these days. There's probably 300 to 400 applicants minimum for every banking job. The bubble is surely gone for good. Employers are in the driver's seat.
