In Reply To: Hi, I'm a college senior in the US with an Ivy League college and have extensive (over 1 year) working experience (part time and full time) working for a well-known quantitative hedge fund with excellent track record(around for over 10 years). How likely it is for me to secure a job in London, either with another top hedge fund or in a trading position in an IB? If it's possible, what are the routes that I should explore? Headhunters? Contacting the companies directly? Thanks!
Message: Hi: I am currently in London and I might have some advice for you: If you want to work as a trader in an IB then apply for the relevant Analyst programme directly through the website. You should get a lot of interviews given your background. If you want to work for a hedge fund, you will need a recruiting company. Check efinancialcareers.com and apply to all relevant jobs in the hedge fund section. All these jobs are advertised through headhunters who have the right connections. I hope this helps. Btw: why do you want to work in London, not NYC? What is your citizenship? It is not very easy to get a Visa (though still much easier than in the US).
