Hello! I'm realizing that I may need a coach. I've had three interviews in the last 45 days and haven't been offered a position.
I'm not sure how or where to find a coach. Also, how do I know if they are truly qualified to assist me. What should I be looking to pay hourly, etc. Any recommendations would be helpful.
I live in the NYC/Northern NJ area and would like some help in this area. After reading an earlier post, I'm ready to be candid and open about myself with respect to my past.
Your help is greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance

Hi Cherie,
I haven't been back to the Vault boards recently (darn work getting in the way) :) However I saw your post and wanted to respond to you.
You should do some research online. If you want to find a career coach/counselor locally, you should be able to easily do that. If you can't find one locally that you trust - you can contact me - we can work with you virtually, telephonically, electronically, etc. We successfully help people all over the world that we never see face to face.
You should check out the credentials of the company before you hire them. Do you research online. There are many sources to help guide your decision.
Find out where the company gets their training. RLS uses several different accreditation programs to keep our staff up to date on trends and what works and doesn't work. It's amazing how quickly something will catch on and burn out, so you want to be sure your hiring someone who has training to keep them ahead of that curve.
Mostly you'll just need to ask lots of questions, ask for success stories, find out if you can talk to previous clients, etc. Do the same due diligence for this as you would any professional training you invest in.
Our company does not charge an hourly rate, so I really can't tell you what you should expect to pay hourly.
I hope you find the help you're looking for.
Andrea
