In the past 4 years I have done everything from graphic design, web mastering , was a veterinary technician for 3 years while doing graphic work. Also was a personal assistant for 8 months. I have an associate degree in art as well as an EMT certification. I graduate in May 06 with a BA in History with a minor in Philosophy and start Law school in the fall of 06. Now the problem I have is that while still taking classes, no and I repeat no decent paying graphic position will hire, I have scanned Houston Texas repeatedly. Freelancing did not work out for me. Vet techs make 8$ an hour which is not worth it.
I would like to apply as a secretary or clerk position at a law firm.
My question is how do I take all of this knowledge and apply it or direct it into a focused position ?
I realize that I seam very broad however I intend on studying medical/civil law as well as doing some charity work for animal rights.
So all of this comes together.
The only job that I have come across that works with my hectic class schedule is being a waitress , and I don??t have what it takes to do that anymore since I am getting older, and feel that I should apply myself. * last waitress job I applied for the manager said that he couldn??t hire me because I was more qualified for his job than he was!
Help, anyone with any ideas I am open for suggestions
Thanks in advance
