I got my current job through an ad 5 years ago, and I just accepted a new job offer after answering yet another ad last month. It does work. You just have to have the exact qualifications they are asking for and know how to package yourself for that specific company/position, and, of course, interview well. The job description needs to be a really good fit with your resume or you're wasting your time. |

For the most part its not that easy; maybe in highly specialized fields like engineering or sciences yes, but in banking or finance its never that easy.
