Job offer revoked upon high salary expectation? |

Hey all,
I was offered a salary of 60k$, but I told the HR that I was more expecting 65k$ and asked her if it was possible to revise the offer. They told me they will check with their boss and call me back. It's been more than a week. Could they actually cancel the job offer completely because my expectations are too high?

Yes it is possible that they could recind the offer if your expectations are too high...personally I don't feel that 5k per year is such a huge figure and I think most companies would match that if they really liked you as a canidate.
I would suggest that you call HR or whomever made the offer to you and follow up ASAP! In the future always be clear with the person you are speaking with about the follow up....and always try to make your counter offer in the nicest way possible while replaying up your past achievements and strengths!
Now get on the phone and give them a call...most likely this delay is just a small hang up in the approval process but you need to know exactly where you stand with your counter offer!
