I am a recent graduate from a top undergraduate business program at a top 25 school. My academic numbers are pretty good, 3.5+ GPA, and my standardized tests are all in the 95+ percentile. I have worked jobs every summer for the past decade, but did not have an opportunity to do an internship that was specifically finance related (i.e. I don't have the all-star internship that a lot of my peers may) I am able to get initial interviews at a lot of competitive firms and companies, but have yet to get an offer because I "lack the kind of experience we normally look for".
I am confident I would perform these jobs as well or better than anyone who has been hired over me, how do I overcome this dilemma?
Do I settle for a less attractive job at a less well-known company for a few years, even though it may not boost my resume much if any, or do I keep hoping someone will recognize my skills and ability and extend me an offer?
