In Reply To: I've had luck applying the second time around at two companies. With one company, my interviews were probably three years apart and the position that I ended up getting was completely different than the original position that I applied for earlier but the manager was the same. Once we were face to face, we remembered each other and it actually made the interview go smoother. There is no harm in reapplying but as a caveat, even if you were blacklisted by the company, an HR person would never tell you that. Every candidate that isn't offered the position, is an "excellent candidate". Ever if you were a mess, they'd stand nothing to gain by telling you so. Fact of the matter is, there are alot of good candidates and ultimately it may come down to splitting hairs with whom they offer the position to so you could really be that close and can nail it the second time around.
Message: Very interesting! I'm guessing that since it had been three years since your first interview at the one company, that might have been enough time for your first interview files to no longer be readily apparent. Did you keep applying occasionally throughout the three-year period, or was the that the first time applying since your last interview? It's only been a few months since I interviewed at a company, but I've already re-applied for three different positions. Thanks for your comments!
