In Reply To: I have a question regarding the horror stories I hear from people about long tiring hours. In a previous job, I was expected to work 9 hours a day but saw my coworkers spend 30% of their day by the water cooler, by the coffee pot, or heading towards the bathroom. When I hear people in other professions claim to work 60 hour work weeks, how many of those hours are actaully spent on hard work?
Message: Yes, if you work in I-banking and sometimes consulting, you will be chained to your desk for hours. But most jobs, people take long coffee breaks, surf the net, and in general waste alot of time. I dont really get it either as I would like to go home at 6 if I have finished my work. Seems more of a show that you are there late rather than actually working during normal hours. Bit frustrating.
