I've recently interviewed with two companies. Both rejected me stating that I was an "impressive candidate," but they decided to fill the positions internally. It's strange that I heard the same reason during the same month from two different companies.
One of the companies told me to keep an eye on its web site for future opportunities. I applied online for two other positions, and I called to inform the HR rep with whom I had dealt that I had applied, but I did not hear back from her.
Are there any HR people who could tell me whether I'm wasting my time in re-applying to these companies? Were they just being polite about rejecting me the first times?
