I recently finished undergrad, and my mom (the parent that paid my tuition) got laid off from her job, and I owe money to my undergrad institution so they will not release my transcript. Do most jobs require you to provide them with a transcript when they hire you. I have two interviews coming up in finance, and I'm wondering if they will want a copy of my transcript. If anyone has any knowledge of this that would be greatly appreciated. |

If you are fresh out of school and have little or no prior work experience, most companies will want to see your transcripts as it engenders your primary qualification. They will want too not only have proof you have such and such degree from ABC college, but, too, the courses you've taken, how u did, your institutional honors etc... there is the off chance the company's H.R. dept. could over look procuring a copy, but it's doubtful as they will be primarily focusing on your primary qualification for the position, i.e., your degree. I would also, highly, suggest you get in contact with the accounting office of your college and work out some type of payment arrangement based on your circumstances; they are very understanding. Besides, you don't want to start out your credit report with a derogatory account, as this will wreak havoc for a long time to come, e.g., higher interest rates, job rejections due to unfavorable credit report, etc...
