Topic Name: Resume - horrible freshman GPA
Message Name: consider graduate school

In Reply To: I am an engineering student entering my senior year in the fall. My freshman year was disastrous - I thought I could cruise by without studying (like in high school)and ended up with a horrible 2.1 for the year. I have since learned my lesson, and my sophomore and junior grades were 3.5 and 3.6. I hate my cumulative GPA and I don't think it reflects who I am today. Is there a better number I can put on my resume? I find it very tempting to exclude my freshman grades. Is that acceptable?
Message: if you've improved that greatly, you should consider graduate school. Certainly, your current school would consider your improvement now from your freshman year. Talk to a Prof.
